About Us

Our staff & volunteers

· The Selbyville Historical Society, (the “Historical Society”) is a Tax-Exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. We meet the last Wednesday of each month at Salem Church at 6PM

29 Church Street, Selbyville, DE 19975

Our history

The Selbyville Historical Society was formed on the evening of

February 15, 2023, by a small group of town residents, most of whom had been a part of the Townsend Building Committee, charged with considering the fate of the Sen. John G. Townsend's home.

Our mission

The mission of the Selbyville Historical Society (SHS) is to preserve

and share the history of Selbyville and its notable figures with visitors, residents, and generations to come.
