The Selbyville Historical Society (the “Historical Society”) is a Tax-exempt organization under section 501(3)(c) of the non-profit IRS Code.


We meet on the last Wednesday of each month.

Our history

 The Selbyville Historical Society was formed on the evening of 

February 15, 2023, by a small group of town residents, most of whom had been a part of the Townsend Building Committee, charged with considering the fate of Senator John G. Townsend's home. 

Our mission

  

The mission of the Selbyville Historical Society (SHS) is to preserve

 and share the history of Selbyville and its notable figures with visitors, residents, and furture generations.
